Carol Swanson began
her college education as a single mother at the age of 35. She received
her undergraduate degree in 1987 from the University of Central
Florida earnings honors during several semesters. (B.S. 1987). After
passing the LSAT in the top 10% of the nation, she attended law
school at the University of Florida and received her J.D. in 1990.
The University of Florida awarded her honors for a 4.0 gpa semester
and a Book Award in family law. Ms. Swanson also taught law school
entrance examination classes for several years.
After first practicing criminal law, Ms. Swanson began practicing
labor and employment law in 1992. She does appellate work for other
attorneys and served on the Criminal CJA Panel of Federal Public
Defenders doing Civil Rights work. To date, she has written over
140 appellate briefs in both civil and criminal appeals. She is
a sole practitioner in the Law Offices of Carol Swanson.
She currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors
of the Seminole County Bar Association and is a member of the Florida
Bar’s Appellate Law - Continuing Education Committee. She
is also a member of the Orange County and Florida Bar Associations,
the National Employment Lawyers Association and Florida Employment
Lawyers Association. |
